Party Hearty Sis!

It was my sister's 10th anniversary of being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes a few weeks ago - and she celebrated with a ten year old party! I thought i'd better make her a very bright and kid-coloured card to celebrate the occasion. (All images copyright Stampin' Up!)

I had some extra cupcakes, so I thought i'd better decorate the inside as well!

I love how easy it was to get the colour choices happening once I picked up the paper for the 9 squares on the front of the card. Washington Apple - such a great DSP range, and great colours for kids cards (I even think this ended up unisex, despite the ribbon on the inside!)

To put her birthday present in (I made her a miniature teddy bear) I also made a bag-a-lope with a little topper made out of cardstock and ribbon.

I love how this all turned out! It's a great little gift set, and she really loved it too.

Ingredients (all Stampin' Up this time):
Stamps: Party Hearty
Cardstock: So Saffron, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White
DSP: Washington Apple
Inks: Riding Hood Red, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie
Extras: 3/4" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" Square punches, Pop-up glue dots, Riding Hood Red Taffeta

Papertrey Ink World Card Making Day

Wow, so it's been ages since my first post, but i've got another one finally!

This card is one I made in about 15 minutes tonight for the Papertrey Ink World Card Making Day challenges - here.

I hope i'm not ridiculously late for this challenge (I can't convert times to the US off the top of my head, and i'm too in denial to check properly!)

The colours in this photo are a touch washed out, but you get the idea - bright, pinata inspired card made with my scallop punch and some fabric-y papers I found lying around my craft area.

Here's the card (all images copyright Papertrey Ink):

Very Mexico I think - even if my idea came from a cliche!

Ingredients:
Stamps:
Papertrey Ink Birthday Basics
Ink:
Going Grey from Stampin Up
Papers:
Random assortment of very soft papers from a craft store, kraft cardstock as a base

My first challenge

My first card to publish to my blog, and my first card for a challenge. But i'm posting it too late - which makes me so mad because I made it days ago :( Oh well, I hope you guys enjoy it anyway!

I made it for Makeesha's colour challenge (here) - I really love how the touch of red brightens the So Saffron/Regal Rose colour scheme!

A note on the ribbon ruffle - I running hand stitched along one side of the ribbon with dental floss then tightened the stitching to create the ruffle. I use floss because it's very strong and almost never breaks, plus it slides easily along the ribbon!

Recipe (all Stampin' Up today):

Ingredients:
Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes
Cardstock: Regal Rose, Real Red, Whisper White
DSP: Windsor Knot
Ink: So Saffron, Real Red, Regal Rose
Ribbon: Regal Rose 5/8"
Other: Ultra glue (for the ruffle) and dental floss

Welcome

Hi everyone and welcome to my new blog! I've been asked a few times to create one to share some of my designs and papercrafting projects, so hopefully you'll enjoy what I have to share. Stick with me, I'm terrible at taking photos (I hope to improve), but hopefully you'll get the idea anyway. I'll be sharing some tutorials on how to do some of the things I've discovered and I have an extensive pile of unused supplies in my cupboard that may end up as blog candy - so keep coming back!

Most importantly, leave me a comment and let me know if you like my cards!

Thanks,

-Kirsten
